What is an AEO and GEO grader?
An AEO and GEO grader checks whether a web page is easy for AI answer engines to find, read and quote. It tests AI crawler access, indexability, structured data, answer-first content and trust signals, then scores the page from 0 to 100 and lists the fixes that make it more likely to be cited by ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.
How it works

Enter a page
Your home page, a service page or a guide you want AI engines to cite.
-
2
We run 18 checks

-
3
Fix what matters first

Who it’s for
Agencies
Grade a prospect’s key pages before the sales call and show exactly why AI assistants skip them.
Freelancers
Turn the fix list into a clear, billable AEO and GEO project.
In-house teams
Check new pages before launch so they are ready to be quoted, not just ranked.
Why it matters
Up to 40%
more visibility in generative engine answers when content adds statistics, quotations and cited sources, in a study of 10,000 queries.
0 JavaScript
The major AI crawlers fetch pages without running JavaScript, so content that only appears after scripts run can be invisible to them.
Same foundations
Google says pages appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode through the same crawling, indexing and helpful-content signals as search, with no special markup required.
How we check
We fetch the page and your site files the way crawlers do (no JavaScript), then run 18 weighted checks. Crawler access and indexability weigh most, because nothing else matters if AI engines can’t read the page. The score is the weighted share of checks passed; warnings count half.

What is the difference between AEO and GEO?
AEO (answer engine optimization) is about being the direct answer in features like Google’s AI Overviews and voice assistants. GEO (generative engine optimization) is about being mentioned and cited by AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. The page-level foundations overlap heavily, so one grader covers both.
Does a high score guarantee AI citations?
No. The score measures whether a page is easy to find, read and quote. Whether AI engines cite you also depends on your authority, mentions of your brand on other sites, and competitors. Serpify’s paid plans measure actual citations over time.
Why grade one page rather than the whole site?
AI engines cite pages, not sites. Grade the pages you most want cited: your home page, key service pages and your best guides.
Is llms.txt required?
No engine requires it, and Google does not use it, so it carries little weight in the score. It is cheap to add and some AI assistants read it.
Is the grader really free?
Yes. The score and top issues are free with no account. The full fix list is emailed to you on request.
